Ktech Center of Excellence for Data Science & AI, Bangalore (NASSCOM CoE DS&AI) – an entity formed in collaboration between industry, government and academia, to leverage AI and DATA to solve complex, multi-domain problems – has formed a taskforce to catalyse an “Open Data platform”.
Our aim is to accelerate societal development by democratising access to DATA and hence markets and resources by promoting business models that rely on DATA Flows. This requires bringing together Data providers and Data consumers on a platform and enabling data interoperability, while retaining rights of data owners for security and privacy.
Our first “use-case” is focussed on Farmer Credit due to its significance in the social context. The group is formed to jointly explore how we can:

All the efforts of the CoE and the “Open Data Platform” are “non-commercial”, the outcome and learnings are free to be used by everyone and the participants are coming together voluntarily only with an objective to “co-create” transformative business models.
The Open Data Platform, once operational, will spawn new business models leading to revenue enhancement opportunities and social good.
However, all the actual activities involved in building this platform, or the learnings from establishing data interoperability standards, will be with no associated commercial interests.
Several leading Agri Industry, Start-ups, Think Tanks, Research organization are participating to engage and help build this approach. From the Govt. – NITI Aayog, MeitY and some state Govts will be engaged.
